March 19

  • This week we started reading the short story The Alchemist.
  • We performed our group activities and did our inner/outer circle talks.
  • I realized it's really hard to talk in the inner circle sometimes because everyone is trying to get their two sense...
  • I have no new questions.

  • This week in AP Lit we did practice essays for the AP Exam.
  • We discussed the various differences between three essays ranked from good to bad and how we might better our own.
  • I realized that it's best to include one or two main points but elaborate on those further than doing more points but less explaning. Quality over quantity.
  • I have no new questions.

  • Last week we continued discussing Satire and its various aspects. We also took a quiz over "A Modest Proposal."
  • We didn't really discuss much in class, besides that pertaining to our Satire Projects.
  • I didn't really contribute much to class but I feel that our project was well done.
  • I have no new questions right now.

  • We started discussing satire and it's use in A Modest Proposal.
  • We learned about the many different uses of satire, different kinds of satire that you could use, and how they are used to prove a point.
  • I learned that satire is a useful tool used in literature to prove a point sometimes using comedy, other times darker humor.
  • I have no new questions.

  • This week in Ap Lit we finished reading Hamleti and finished the week with a timed writing assignment on one of three writing prompts.
  • We completed projects about the themes found in Hamlet. I chose the theme of "Appearance vs. Reality" for my project.
  • I realized this week that there can easily be more than one message an author can portray in one work of literature and various themes all play a part to convey the message.
  • I have no new questions right now.

  • This week in AP Lit we finished reading Hamlet. We also watched video versions of the final two scenes, including one with Robin Williams.
  • We discussed the final two scenes of Hamlet and what happened in the deaths of each of the characters.
  • I don't think I really contributed much to AP Lit this week actually. Maybe a few remarks here and there.
  • I have no new questions.
